Tiny House Living

Coming Soon!

So me and hubby love the idea of a tiny home. And the idea is starting to take off. More and more people I think are tired of struggling to survive. We are currently living in San Diego and the cost of living is going back up. To the point where we cant even afford to buy anything. And we make a decent living. But not only that, the bigger the house the higher the cost of everything, from cooling to heating etc. And why do 2 people need a 2500 sq ft house? They don't. I think people mainly just want to keep up with the Jones's and society is lead to believe that they need to buy the half million dollar home. I think the majority of people think bigger is better. Well in my mind its the opposite when it comes to housing. Smaller the better. Also less of an impact on the environment.

So in our search to build/buy a tiny home, we have come to the realization that California makes it almost impossible to have one. Where to park it? If you buy land, they want you to buy land in cash and I don't know about you but I don't have 120 grand sitting around to buy an acre of land. And even if you do, there are so many codes and regulations that it makes it almost impossible to do. Like minimum sq ft regulations.

We also love to travel and enjoy life. Who wouldn't? If we were to buy anything that we could maybe afford we would be strapped and wouldn't be able to travel or cruise! (which we love) So with a tiny home it opens up our opportunity to do the things we want. And gives us a low cost of living.

In our search though we found something called park models. They are a manufactured home but on a trailer. So they are considered RV's but some parks allow you to park them there. Is this the answer? could be. We are just now starting to look into it and found a park that we like that allows them! This is an example of one:

So this page will be dedicated to our search to live within our means and to try and get a tiny home :)
