The doors are in!!

Well we bought the french doors last month. They were on sale at lowes for 345 bucks. Which I thought was a pretty good deal. The next weekend we put them in and it was a lot easier then I thought. Hardest part was getting it square and level. Here are some pictures :)

As you can see we bought the harware too and installed that. The door is meant to be an indoor/outdoor set, so it has a deadbolt. We prob wont use it but we bought the deadbolt for a more finished look. That same weekend we found roman shades for a really good price at lowes and grabbed them up. :) We looove having the doors up. SO much more privacy. :) We still need to finish the trim around the edge which we bought.

Hate shoes!!

Well I was on a mission yesterday to find something at IKEA to hide all of our shoes that were just out and about laying on a shoes rack. If you know me at all I hate clutter and I hate stuff showing. So we set out to find a solution. IKEA had a plastic shoe drawers, 3 pack for 40 bucks. I was on with it but hubby was not. Kinda thought it was a rip off to pay that much for plastic. All the other ones were like 100 bucks and up. So we moved on.

As we were walking I kept thinking about it. I really wanted to get something, That was the whole reason for coming here. We went onto the computer they have in the wharehouse part of the store and they had one for the same price but it was wood and it was dark wood! Score! We picked that one up :) Here is the end result.

As you can see it fit all me and my husbands shoes except a couple on the side... We have a lot of shoes!! Or at least I do.

More fun in "The Studio"

Well saturday we went on a mission for new curtains. What we had up before were those stupid vertical blinds. They has been up for about 30 years probably and they were all messed up and broken. So we knew those had to come down. Along with the valance from the 40's. :) Here is what we were up against...

Dun dun dun... lol. Don't mind the cat. I know its kinda dark. Sorry. Anyways, we went to Dollar Tree (I can never pass up that store) We got some drop clothes for a dollar for when we start painting. Then we headed over to Marshall's .. another one of my favorite stores :) We have been eye balling these curtains they had for 24 bucks for a 2 pack. I believe each curtain was 40" by 84" so we new with a window that big we need at least 4 curtains so we got 2 packs of them.

Now the next mission was to find a rod. They didn't have the right size at Marshall's. We went next door and looked at Tuesday Morning and they didn't have it either. What we needed was a massive long one.

We ran over to the Carlsbad Mall to JCPenny's and looked for a nice rod. I did not know that the majority of them were 100 bucks just for a rod. I am not paying that. Sorry.

So then we jetted over to Target and found the one we ended up getting for 30 bucks :) Now that's more my price! I wasn't gonna pay 100 for a rod just because it said Martha Stewart on it.

So home we go to go put these babies up! End result...

They end up being about 6 inches off the ground... I wanted them to hit the ground but this is good enough for now. We can always buy nicer ones later if we decide to change em. I just wanted those vertical blinds down.

Sunday we were talking about an AC unit because it has been miserable here in SD. We cant sleep at night. The house itself has AC but the room was built after the house was built and they only installed one vent and that blows almost nothing into the room. Then the in-laws told us they had a window AC unit that they have had for years and never took it out of the box. SO we ran over to pick it up and install. :) This was in the evening time when we got home we had to think of a temp. install for now so that we could use it.

We ended up running over to Lowe's and getting some wood. We used one of our 15, 7 dollar tables we have from IKEA and stacked em and then cut the bottom legs so that it sits even with the window to hold it up outside. Ghetto I know, but just temp. Then we bought a piece of plywood and cut to fit the rest of the window. (I will be getting a piece of bead board to put over it in white.) Our neighbor did all our windows so we are going to see about a custom window to fit above it. So here it is... don't judge yet... this is only temporary.

Wow what a project. But we turned it on and bam! Cold air! It was awesome. As you can see it said it was 80 in the room.

I know I know what your thinking... lady you need to do something with those wood paneled walls... I know! I have plans don't worry. :)

We also last weekend install a key lock on the slider so we are able to have our own entry to our room separate from the house :)

And of course I had to take pictures of the little mitz.

I know she is just to freaking adorable. As you can see in the back that is a bar with a sink and fridge... that will be a whole nother project in its self.

Thanks for reading! If you have any questions about how we did anything feel free to contact me in the comments :)

Pool Table is gone..

Well today at around 11am the guys from the pool table company came and moved the pool table.. Didnt take them long at all.  Most of it we were able to put into the garage. We had it professionally moved and pulled apart because we didnt trust ourselves and these guys know what they are doing.

Empty room!

Mandalay Bay Vacation

Well we got back from our Vegas trip today. Had a good time. Not as much fun as last time but it was good. Seemed like there was kids everywhere at Mandalay Bay. Esp at the pool. Which got very frustrating cause no matter where you went it was crowded. Wasn't like that at all at TI last time.

Gambling sucked too. Hubby likes to gamble so we gambled a few times. Every time putting in a 20 and won nothing. Usually we get some money back or are able to play for a while. Not here. Straight up took our money. :(

The highlight was the shark reef. That was worth the money. So neat. We got to pet sting rays. See a bunch of sharks, jellyfish, starfish and all kinds of other fish. We even got to see the turtle they recently adopted since he was not able to release him into the wild due to a collapsed lung. (If I remembered right)

Anyways here are some neat picture from the trip.

Cool Aquarium in the lobby while we were checking in. Dont mind Miss grumpy pants looking at us lol.
They have some amazing photography through out the hotel and a gallery of the photographers work. Starting at just 3000 bucks for a small one. Thats all. lol

Mini bar in our room... The bags of snacks were 8 dollars each. Then the bottle of Patron was 40 for a small one. We did not take anything lol

Well known restaurant called Aureole. Waiters have to buggy chord their way up inside the tower to retrieve wine for customers. Very cool!

Eatin some lunch at a restaurant called Citizen and it was Delish!!!! Both had the Blue cheese, mushroom burger and it was yummy. Hubby got no blue cheese on his. He doesnt like it lol

 Very cool Japanese restaurant.

Cool alligator under water. Right up against the glass :)

Two scuba divers cleaning the tank. Very cool... I would love that job!

The sting ray touch pool. When we showed up they were actually feeding the rays and we had to wait till the feeding was over to be able to touch them, but the lady went rambling on about them so really it took way longer. We ended up coming back and then were able to touch them. You will see the pic of hubby petting them.

The jellyfish tank was awesome... to be that close to them was amazing. :)

Baby rays but they were so hard to capture without the flash on cause they are so quick.

This was cool. They made it seem like we were in the hull of a ship and underwater. It was so dark in there that the top picture is blurry without the flash since the shutter speed was so slow due to the darkness. The second picture is with the flash on and I hate the way they turn out.

 Sea turtle they adopted. :)

 Yummy frozen yogurt we had....
Boiler room restauraunt. It was cool. All steam punk like :)
 Cool steampunk hat

The pool. We spent half the day at the pool. Very crowded.

This was a headless man outside the Red Square which was a restaurant. Pretty cool.

 Mandalay Bay
 New York, New York
 Manday Bay and THEhotel

 Luxor

Primm. The border of Cali and Nevada.

These were solar panels out in the desert, thought they were pretty cool.

Well thats it! Thanks for looking!!
